STUCO Today is the last day of the Student Council food drive. Each grade level will compete against one another to see who can collect the most canned food. Four boxes with class labels will placed in the main hallway for students to put the canned goods in. The winning grade level will receive a pizza party!
Military Academy Application Are you interested in learning more about the military academy application process? David Christie, a United States Naval Academy student, will be providing more information on Monday, Nov. 20, after school in the ROTC classroom. KCTV5 news will be here filming the presentation so make plans to attend.
Yearbook Hey LV, it's time to buy your yearbooks! They are currently $60 but if you buy now you are invited to the theme release party in Dec! Seniors, you have a little over a month to buy your senior ads! See Mrs. Weekly or the office for pricing. The deadline is Dec. 20th. Purchases may be cash or checks made out to Leavenworth High School and brought to room 205. The yearbook staff hopes to see you soon!
KS Thespian Festival All students attending the Kansas Thespian Festival 2017 must have their balance in to Mrs. Morgan before Thanksgiving break. Please see Mrs. Morgan if you lost your balance sheet.
Powerlifting There will be a powerlifting meeting at 3:15 on Monday November 20 in the weight room. Meeting will last about 30 minutes. All those interested in competing should attend.
SIGN LANGUAGE CLUB LHS now has a sign language club. The club will meet on Tuesday mornings at 7:15 in room 214. Those interested are invited to attend.
COOLIDGE SCHOLARSHIP Attention all juniors: "The Coolidge - A Scholarship for America" is a full-ride merit scholarship covering tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study. This is a one-of-a-kind scholarship which may be used at any accredited American university and is open exclusively to students in the 11th grade! You must be an American citizen or permanent resident in order to apply. All applications are due no later than 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, January 24, 2018. See your guidance counselor for additional information.
FAFSA WORKSHOP The KU Student Money Management Services Dept. is offering a free FAFSA Workshop for students and parents at Eaton Hall (rooms 1014 & 1018) on November 20th and November 30th from 6:30-9:00 pm, dinner included. Please RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and email prior to the date of the event.
CHEER TRYOUTS LV Cheer is pleased to announce winter yell leader tryouts. We have openings for young men interested in promoting school spirit, and representing LV with precision and pride. If interested, please see Coach Romondo in Room 129 for additional information. Tryouts will be held Monday, November 20 in the Lifetime Fitness and Wellness Room, from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
CHEER COMPETITION Good luck to LV Cheer as they participate in the first-ever KSHSAA Game Day competition. Cheer squads from all classifications will be represented in this state-wide event at the Topeka Expocentre. We can't wait to show our Pioneer Spirit for the state competition. Good luck, Pioneers!
RONALD MCDONALD FUNDRAISER WINNERS CONGRATULATIONS to the top four seminars for the Ronald McDonald fundraiser and winning the Ice Cream Party. With all of your donations from ALL advisories we doubled our original goal of $500.00. In first place with $225.85 (Because no one remembers 2nd) was Cogdill's Advisory. Racing into 2nd place yesterday was Mrs. Stevens Advisory. Hanging onto 3rd place after an early lead is Mrs. Wathall. And the 4th place team with steady weekly donations is Mrs. Cartwright. Congratulations advisory, we will have our party November 30th during the first 20 minutes of the seminar.
