ACT TESTING The ACT will be administered at LHS on Saturday, October 28. The deadline for regular registration is TODAY Junior and Senior students should see their counselor to get registration materials to register online. College-bound students should not wait until their senior year to take the exam. If you are a college-bound senior needing to take the exam, see your counselor immediately.


ACT POWER PREP If you want an incredible opportunity to prepare for the ACT at a very low cost, sign up for the ACT PowerPrep Prep Class scheduled for Saturday, October 21. Sign up in the Guidance Office with Mrs. Wilt. cost is $40. Only 8 slots left


SAT REGISTRATION AND TESTING The SAT will be administered at LHS on Saturday, November 4. The deadline to register for this administration is Friday, October 5. Junior and Senior students should see their guidance counselor to get registration materials to register online.


POWDERPUFF SIGN UPS Attention juniors and seniors: Ladies interested in playing PowderPuff football and gentlemen interested in cheering at the PowderPuff game TODAY is the last day to sign up during lunch. If you're interested in being a football or cheer coach or a water boy, stop by the table as well. The game is October 4th at 6pm.


College and Career Night College and Career Night is Oct. 10th from 6:30-8:00 pm. Universities, community colleges, and technical colleges will be in the large gym. Military academies, branches, and ROTC departments will be in the small gym. All students grades 9-12 and parents are welcome. It’s never too early to start planning your future. Streamline the check-in process with colleges by using a personalized barcode (printed or on your smartphone) created beforehand at www.gotocollegefairs.com. See your counselor if you have questions.


LEADERSHIP SEMINAR Attention All Sophomores: Leavenworth High School is seeking ONE outstanding sophomore to attend the Hugh O’Brian or HOBY State Leadership Seminar May 31 - June 3, 2018. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn leadership skills and apply them in order to become effective, ethical leaders in your home, school and community. Students learn leadership from three perspectives – personal, group and society! This year’s conference will be held on the campus of Kansas State University. Sophomores interested should write a 150 word essay on “the most rewarding and challenging aspect of being a leader in your school and community", attach a copy of your resume and transcript, and return it by October 24th to Ms. Klima in Guidance.


OPERATION CINDERELLA We are in need of new fashionable dresses. Please donate your dresses through Mrs Klima in guidance. Also, remember that every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:05 to 4:00p.m. and during homecoming week on October 3rd and 6th dresses can be purchased for $15 for homecoming in room 204. All profits go to the American Cancer Society.


ACT PREP CLASS LOCATION The ACT Prep Class for Saturday, October 21 will take place in the large ROTC Classroom.


EARLY GRAD PETITIONS If you are slated to graduate at semester, your early grad petition is due to your counselor no later than Friday, September 29th.


SENIOR PICTURES Will take place on October 2nd in the library come looking your best.


TRIO TRIP TRIO-Talent Search is going to Fort Scott Community College and Pittsburg State University on Friday, October 20th. Interested TRIO students should stop by the library to pick up permission forms.


BLOOD DRIVE Blood Drive: Stuco will be hosting a blood drive September 28th in the Big Gym. Sign ups start Monday at lunch and run through Wednesday. You MUST sign up to donate, have a signed permission slip and be 16 or older. If you are interested please see the sign up tables at lunch next week! Any questions please see Mrs. Farrell in room 118.


DECA CONGRATS LV DECA rocked the house in Atchison last night with the highest stage presence, against Lansing, Atchison, Blue Valley and Mill Valley schools. Top honors were awarded to the following students: Chayne Dessaso Patrick Lewallen Michael Bernier Johnathan Downs Reece Williams Joseph Song and Carter Gallahue LV swept the testing honors for the night with Chayne, Johnathan, and Patrick Congrats to a super start!
