COOLIDGE SCHOLARSHIP Attention all juniors: "The Coolidge - A Scholarship for America" is a full-ride merit scholarship covering tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study. This is a one-of-a-kind scholarship which may be used at any accredited American university and is open exclusively to students in the 11th grade! You must be an American citizen or permanent resident in order to apply. Tomorrow, no later than 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time is the last day to turn in applications. See your guidance counselor for additional information.
JUNIOR BOYS - AMERICAN LEGION BOYS STATE Attention All Junior Boys: American Legion Boys State will be held this year on the campus of Kansas State University June 3 - 8, 2018. This is a chance to practice how government works as you experience a week-long government-in-action program. The purpose of Boys State is to instill a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation. Boys must be in the top half of the junior class. Applications are available from Ms. Klima in Guidance and are due back no later than March 1, 2018.
PI-oneer Math Club Leavenworth PI-oneer Math Club is hosting a math contest on Saturday, January 27 at 1 p.m. The entry fee of $4 will be covered by Math Club for LHS students who want to get involved and win academic awards, if you register with Mrs. Riddle in room 206 by Wednesday, January 24. Come to a Math Club meeting on a Wednesday morning to practice some of the kinds of problems you'll see!

INTERACT CLUB DON'T MISS OUT! Roses are being sold in the cafeteria ONLY until this Friday, January 26th. Buy 1 at lunch for $3 or buy 2 for $5. They will be ready on Valentine's Day for lucky recipients to pick up during lunch. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the Interfaith Shelter of Hope here in Leavenworth.

POWDER BUFF VOLLEYBALL Hey, hey, hey - it's Powder Buff Volleyball time - senior boys take on the junior boys and both teams take on a faculty team in volleyball! Join the Senior Class Cabinet for this exciting event on February 21st in the LHS gym. Sign-ups are during lunch and tomorrow is the last day. OMAHA FILM FESTIVAL - MEETING All students attending the Omaha Film festival need to pay their balance by Friday January 26th. There will be a meeting for attendees on Monday January 29th evening at 5:00.
MODEL UN MEETING Model United Nations will meet in Mr. Marden's room, #117, on Wednesday after school. All model UN members need to have their groups prepared for the JCCC conference and to bring money for the conference. Also all students interested in Model UN should stop by Mr. Marden's room Wednesday after school to find out about the club - MUN is always looking for new delegates!

LV BOOK CLUB MEETING LV Book Club will meet Thursday after school in the library to discuss the book Erebos by Ursala Poznanski.
I NEVER SAW ANOTHER BUTTERFLY - SHOW DATES Leavenworth High School proudly presents I Never Saw Another Butterfly, February 2 and 3 at 7 PM. Based on the children of Terezin during World War II, LHS Theatre is proud to honor our military with free admission both evenings for vertans or active military. A living museum will be presented during preshow and intermission.
