U.S. SERVICE ACADEMIES Attention Class of 2018: Senator Pat Roberts' office is now accepting nomination applications for admission to the U.S. Service Academies for entry July 2018. The academies requiring Congressional nominations including the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, The U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point. Applicants should be aware the deadline for a completed application is October 1, 2017. See your guidance counselor if you have questions.

LVPD - SUMMER CAMP The Leavenworth Police Department is looking for volunteers for the LVPD summer camp from June 19-23, 2017. You must be between the ages of 15-17 years old to volunteer. There are 10 spots left

Amanda Holmes Inspirational Art Scholarship Amanda Holmes Inspirational Art Scholarship $1,000 non-renewable scholarship In memory of Amanda Holmes, Leavenworth High School graduate, Class of 2016. Criteria: To be considered, you must be a current Leavenworth High School senior and have taken at least one art class during your time in high school. You must submit your own original piece of artwork along with a paragraph (not to exceed 250 words) explaining how your piece of art is creative, inspirational, and exhibits inner beauty. Artwork to be considered should be a drawing, painting, sculpture, photograph and/or collage. Art pieces will be judged by a panel and one will be selected. The winner will be announced and presented with the scholarship during the Senior Awards Night ceremony. Deadline for submission: May 6, 2017 Artwork and explanation should be turned in to Ms. Klima in the Guidance Office. (Seniors wishing to enter a piece of art do NOT need to be pursuing a college education and/or majoring in art.)

THEATER PRODUCTION - ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED IN KINDERGARTEN On April 28 and 29, come be a kid again with Leavenworth High School Theater! The senior production of "All I Really Need To Know I Learned in Kindergarten" Directed by Ryan Pangracs, the show features all senior performers. In addition to our invited dress, we would like you to be our guest on Friday night as our seniors would like to honor their teachers. We truly thank you for all you do for our students. Leavenworth HS Theater could never do what we do without your support.

PROM TICKETS Prom tickets are now on sale in Rooms 249 and 128 before and after school for $25 each. Don't miss out on Prom 2017!

SPRING CHESS TOURNAMENT Chess Club will be holding a Spring Chess Tournament on May 4th and 5th from 3:00-5:00 in the library. You must sign up in the library by May 3rd to participate in the Thursday and Friday tournament. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 places on Friday at 5:00.

Driver's ED Sign-Up Attention Students: If you pre-registered for summer Driver's ED you must see Mrs. Sullivan in the office to confirm your spot.
